Martin Max Schreiner is a classically trained composer with interest and experience in world musics. He earned a MM New England Conservatory '86. His awards Include: Massachusetts Cultural Council, NERT International Chamber Music Competition, a Bryant Fellowship from Harvard University, and a certificate from the International Center for Japanese Culture in Yokohama.
“Written for the Daniel Blitz Clavichord Project, ‘Hops, Skips and a Jump’ rhythmically suggests hopping and skipping and an ending with a jump across the entire range of the instrument. There is also some interesting chromatic inflections in the unfolding of these mere 100 notes.”
